A propane tank exploded in the enterprise "Rosselkhozkhimiya" in Vladimir Oblast (Russia) on the 2nd of February. Five people died, and three got severe injuries.
Rescuers arrived at the scene immediately. The localisation of the fire caused by the massive explosion took more than 50 minutes. The area of the fire stretched across approx. 100 m2. Search and rescue efforts are still continuing.
Preliminary investigation shows that the explosion was caused by neglecting of fire safety precautions during building work.
The investigation is being continued now.
