Short Circuit Caused Fire at Krasnoyarsk Thermal Power StationMarch 17, 2014
Krasnoyarsk, March 17, 07:46 (UTC +8): power cables were found caught fire at Thermal power station number 1. The overall area of the fire scene was 130 sq. meters.
According to local Emercom press-center, the accident occurred at the ground and first floor of the thermal power station. The flames swept 30 sq. meters at the ground floor and 100 sq. meters at the first floor. The fire was localized at 8:50 and completely eliminated at 9:04. Forty nine people and 17 units of fire engines took part in the fire extinguishing.
The fire had no impact on the thermal power station operation. Nobody was injured or dead.
The cause of the incident was preliminary announced as electrical short circuit. The investigation is being held.
